- Able to articulate an understanding of classroom best practices
- Experience developing instructional schedules
- Understanding of various assessment methods
- Familiar with K–8 curriculum (content)
- Understanding of Title One funding, free/reduced meal processes, and other revenue sources
- Familiarity with school operations including student attendance policies, transportation, food services, and discipline policies.
- Experience with parent organizations—school based or others
- Comfortable assembling professional development plans
- Familiar with various methods to evaluate teachers
- Experience developing and managing multidimensional plans
